Ranking 8/10

Scarface started out as a member of the Geto Boys back in 1988. By 1991, he'd gained enough acclaim that he chose to leave the group and step up to the solo platform. Now with seven solo albums under his belt and as president of Def Jam South, Scarface drops his Greatest Hits album.

Scarface represents the essence of 'dirty south' rap. His gangsta style hits hard and his ghetto story telling is renown for growing on you. His Greatest Hits doesn't skimp out as it features the hit singles, 'Never Seen a Man Cry,' one of my favorites, 'F*** Faces,' and the amazing collaboration with Tupac on 'Smile'. Other notables include 'Hand of the Dead Body' which features Ice Cube and Devin, 'Goin Down' which features a chorus à la Nena classic '99 Red Balloons,' 'Southside,' 'Born Killer' and a new joint, 'Love & Friendship.'

Scarface's Greatest Hits is a classic collection of one of the dirty south's most influential rappers. If you like a harsh deep voice spilling gangsta rap circa the early nineties, then this album is worth picking up. It's hard; it's gritty; it's just pure Scarface classics.
