Pink is the latest female artist to break out onto the scene backed by a hit single that disses men. With the release of 'Can't Take Me Home', Pink's debut album, the world has been introduced to the latest pop/hip hop/R&B act. Backed by Laface Records and production by Babyface and LA Reid, Pink's edgy, but satisfying vocal ability doesn't disappoint. The album's style borders on hip hop with several funky-clubbish beats. But the lyrics send the album down an R&B road, as the main theme of the album is Pink's bitterness over lost love and having been hurt in that love. However, this is not the "woo your girlfriend" R&B. This is "in your face" R&B, telling the truths about life, and how unlike with N'Sync, 98 Degrees & The Backstreet Boys not everyone falls in love at first sight, and not all love is smooth.
"You Make Me Sick", "Hiccup", "Split Personality", "Let Me Let You Know" were all impressive tracks.
So ladies, if you feel like having a guy-bashing party, then bring Pink along, she'll help provide some motivation. Otherwise, if you're looking for a pop album, with a mixed R&B and hip hop feel, and impressive vocals and beats, then maybe you'll want to check Pink out.
