Canadian emcee, Choclair said to me in an interview, "I really like Busta Rhymes, I just don't know why he never wins any awards. Every song he comes out with goes over well in the clubs and they're always on the radio. I just don't understand. I feel like Busta should be winning something." The reason, Choclair, is lack of consistency.

It seems that for every amazing single that Busta Rhymes releases, there is an equally unimpressive single. This exact same taste remains in my mouth after exploring his fifth album, Genesis.

Busta puts forth very impressive tracks with 'Pass The Courvoisier' featuring P. Diddy, 'Betta Stay Up In Your House' featuring Rah Digga, 'As I Come Back' produced by The Neptunes, 'Wife In Law' featuring Jaheim and 'Shut 'Em Down 2000,' which provides an old school Pete Rock production style.

At the same time, there are an equal number of weaker tracks. Not even Dr. Dre's production can save Busta on 'Truck Volume' and 'Holla.' And in fact, Genesis' first two singles, 'What It Is' and 'Break Ya Neck,' fall short of Busta Rhymes' trademark potential.

Overall this album was just an average album. Had Busta cut out some of the weaker tracks, and refrained from ending his lines with the same words over and over (in particular n***a), then this album would have been much more enjoyable.
