Bonshah Interview:

Classified: Bonshah, what’re you doing this year?
Bonshah: This year I’m gonna drop an album with 12 tracks called ‘Emerald Tablets.’ Watch for the green one. I’m gonna come with some really really dope production and I’m gonna shock a lot of folks.

Brockway: Is Classified producing the album?
Bonshah: Yeah, Class & I are gonna get together and do some stuff. I’m not actually sure where the production is gonna come from right now. I just know there’ll be a little bit of everything. It’s gonna be hot. I put an album out last year that was actually nominated for an East Coast Music Award.
Classified: What was it called?
Bonshah: Not on the Map
Classified: What was it nominated for?
Bonshah: Nominated for a 2002 East Coast Music Award for best Urban Recording.

Brockway: How’s the album been received?
Bonshah: It’s gotten good reviews and people have received it well, but I haven’t really pushed it very far outside of Nova Scotia. I haven’t really had the chance to get a good enough feel for what people think about it.

Brockway: Sometimes with a first album it’s nice to just get it out there.
Bonshah: Yeah, exactly.
Classified: Get it out on the street. Get that vibe rolling.
Bonshah: Get that first push to get something happening. Most importantly, it was a way for me to get my foot in the door and get something out. Now I’m working on the next album having learnt from my mistakes and come with something better and stronger. So, that’s what I’m gonna do.

Brockway: So when Classified tours worldwide, are you going too?
Bonshah: Of course, I’m there. The whole team will be there. It’s gonna happen.

Brockway: Anything you want to add? Email? Website?
Bonshah: The email is nosonrecording@hotmail.com. You can email Bonshah with any kind of comments, hook-up, or shoutout at me about anything. Production – if you got some beats you wanna throw at me. If you wanna hookup and just talk hip-hop, that’s what I’m all about. I wanna keep hip-hop alive and well.

Rocky Ninja Interview:

Brockway: How’re you going to feel about being on the big screen in the music video for ‘Heavy Artillery’?
Rocky Ninja: How am I gonna feel?
Brockway: Are you excited?
Rocky Ninja: It’s an excitement still.

Brockway: What are you working on as an artist? Are you out there just having fun right now or are you planning on putting together an album?
Rocky Ninja: Well, I have a couple of cds out, so I’m just looking for distribution right now. But, I do have music out that’s getting played.

Brockway: I apologize, but I’m not familiar with your music. When did you put out your albums?
Rocky Ninja: Nah, that’s cool.
Bonshah: You were just selling them by hand weren’t you? Just pushing them on the streets.
Rocky Ninja: Yeah, but I have a lot of stuff that I did in Toronto before.

Brockway: Well, this is a chance to get your name out there.
Rocky Ninja: This is what I’m looking at.

Brockway: Assuming that people are going to be reading this, tell them what they need to know about Rocky Ninja.
Rocky Ninja: Where do I start. Basically, I just believe in fun. I like to talk real. In my music, it’s either the fun or the real. That’s just me.

Brockway: Do you find it’s hard to break through with that sort of fun and real concept?
Rocky Ninja: Nah, not if that’s what you practice. What you practice is what you perfect, no matter if it’s wrong to somebody else and right to you.
