Some questioned Blackalicious' decision in signing with a major record label (MCA). Fortunately, all those in doubt have been silenced by their first major label release, Blazing Arrow. The duo of Chief Xcel and Gift of Gab once again prove their respective mastery of production and lyricism, which has gained them an acclaimed underground following.

Blazing Arrow oozes of the positivity, knowledge and understanding for which Blackalicious have become renown. Their latest album manages to fluidly combine intellectual messages with funk-laden and sample-esk beats, further solidifying Blackalicious' role as conscious hip-hoppers.

Blazing Arrow provides timeless beats and choruses forcing it to grow on you. Some of the more impressive tracks include 'Chemical Calisthenics,' 'Paragraph President,' 'Aural Pleasure (with the ending interlude),' 'Blazing Arrow,' and 'Release Part 1.'

Overall, I was quite impressed with Blazing Arrow. Blackalicious demonstrates a maturity and understanding possessed by very few. This results in a truly unique learning experience, which hits as hard as a blazing arrow.
